Prime Minister Narendra Modi has extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of Republic Day. In a social media post, Mr Modi said nation is celebrating 75 glorious years of being a Republic.
He bowed to all the great women and men who made the Constitution and ensured that India’s journey is rooted in democracy, dignity and unity. He hoped that the occasion strengthens efforts towards preserving the ideals of the Constitution and working towards a stronger and prosperous India.
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has greeted the nation on the occasion of 76th Republic Day. In his message, Mr Birla said that India has become stronger and more prosperous in the glorious journey of 75 years.
He said the country has achieved many remarkable achievements, from agriculture to sports and from land to space. Mr Birla said that every citizen of the country should take a pledge to increase participation in the democratic process.
He also remembered those great personalities who played a role in achieving independence of the country and contributed in the making of the Constitution.
