Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the passing away of senior journalist and writer Umesh Upadhyay. In a social media post, Mr Modi said that the demise of senior journalist is an irreparable loss for the world of  journalism. Mr Modi expressed condolences to his family in this hour of grief. Umesh Upadhyay died after he fell from the fourth floor of a building, where construction work was going on, in south Delhi’s Vasant Kunj area. Police said, he was inspecting the renovation work of his house, when he accidentally fell from the fourth to the second floor at 10.30 am yesterday. He was taken to hospital after he received head injuries. He died in the hospital. Upadhyay was 64.
