Prime Minister and senior BJP leader Narendra Modi has accused Congress of never working for the interest of Uttarakhand. In an interview to a Hindi daily, Mr Modi called himself as a servant of Devbhoomi, and said that the hilly regions, especially Uttarakhand, were neglected for decades. He alleged that there was a lack of vision and willpower among the people in power to work for the benefit of people living in Devbhoomi. Mr Modi said he has spent a lot of time in Uttarakhand as a spiritual seeker and later as a BJP worker. He said he is aware of the problems being faced by people living in the mountains.
