The Press Information Bureau – PIB’s Fact Check Unit has warned against a mobile tower installation fraud asking two thousand 500 rupees from people in the guise of agreement fees. The Fact Check Unit said the counterfeit notice claimed about a fake No Objection Certificate being awarded by the Department of Telecommunications to install mobile tower at the recipient’s location by charging a fee.

The Unit has denied any such claim and informed that no such notice has been issued. Furthermore, the Department of Telecommunications does not directly or indirectly collect any fee or tax for leasing the premises for installation of mobile towers.
