Floods always leave an everlasting effect on the people of the concerned region. The photo exhibition titled Portraits of Persistence, and Enduring Communities of North Bihar by Eklavya Prasad depicts the same.
The exhibition is being held at the India InternationalCentre Annexe in New Delhi from 11 AM to 7 PM and will continue till the 12th of this month. The Exhibition captures the untold resilience of North Bihar’s communities as they confront the cyclical devastations of annual flooding. The photograph documents the immediate impacts on daily life as homes, farmlands and infrastructure yield to the force of water. It also reflects the long-lasting impacts of these floods, seen in the transformations of rural society, and generational imprints on people’s lives. Each of the photographs reveals their remarkable strength, resourcefulness and determination as they prepare for, recover from and endure the impacts of these natural forces.
Talking to Akashvani, the Photographer, Eklavya Prasad said that this exhibition is about telling people that floods are not just for three months as their effects continue throughout the year.
