People of Maharashtra Eager for Political Change: NCP Chief Sharad Pawar

Nationalist Congress Party (SP) chief Sharad Pawar today said that the people of Maharashtra are eager for a political change and expressed confidence that the sentiment will be reflected in the outcome of the upcoming state assembly polls. He was speaking at a joint press conference of the Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition in Mumbai.

Mr. Pawar claimed that the state administration, which was once considered the best in the country, was demoralised under the Mahayuti regime.

The Maha Vikas Aghadi coalition hit out the ruling Mahayuti Government over various issues including law and order situation, women safety, corruption, drugs menace, farmers suicide, paper leaks, unemployment and shifting of industry from Maharashtra.

The press conference was attended by former Chief Ministers Uddhav Thackeray, Senior congress leader and former CM of Maharashtra Prithviraj Chavan, NCP (SP) working president MP Supriya Sule, Shiv Sena (UBT) senior leader Sanjay Raut and Aditya Thackeray, Maharashtra Congress President Nana Patole,  leader of opposition in State assembly Vijay Wadettiwar, Congress leader and MP Varsha Gaikwad among others.

All MVA leaders criticized the State Government over the murder of senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party and former Minister of Maharashtra, Baba Siddiqui.

Hitting out at BJP, Uddhav Thackeray said that if elected, the Maharashtra Vikas Aghadi coalition would focus on the politics of development rather than politics of hatred.
