Scores of enthusiasts and environment lovers have taken part in the Cyclothon, held in the name of, ‘Pedal for Planet’ from Rashtrapati Nilayam, at Bolarum in Secunderabad this morning. The Rastrapathi Nilayam with the support of the National Mineral Development Corporation has organised the event to promote environmental awareness and citizen engagement. Chief National Coach for the India national badminton team, P Gopichand flagged off the cyclothon, a part of broader vision set forth by the President of India to enhance citizen engagement to foster meaningful contribution to the nation’s heritage and environmental preservation efforts. Speaking on the occasion, he said such events will help protect the health of individuals and also the planet. Swathi Shahi OSD to president, Rashtrapati Nilayam Manager Rajani Priya, Major General Rakesh Manocha were present among others. The event witnessed the participation of about nine hundred cyclists and enthusiasts.
