Prasar Bharati-Shared Audio-Visuals for Broadcast and Dissemination (PB-SHABD) services has completed one year this month. The service has also been extended for another year. Prasar Bharati has announced that free access to SHABD will continue until March 2026. This will greatly benefit media organizations, especially smaller ones. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting highlighted that SHABD has a robust network of over 1,500 reporters, correspondents, and stringers, supported by 60 dedicated edit desks operating round the clock to provide comprehensive coverage. The Ministry stated that news portals across the country can access Doordarshan and All India Radio’s trusted repository through SHABD. More than 1,000 stories, covering over 50 news categories-such as agriculture, technology, foreign affairs, and political developments-are uploaded daily in all major Indian languages on SHABD.
