A passing out parade took place in Leh on Friday to mark the induction of the first batch of Agniveer recruits into the Ladakh Scouts Regiment. Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Dr. B. D. Mishra, was the chief guest on the occasion, and the event was attended by a distinguished gathering of military and civil dignitaries.
The Lieutenant Governor said it is a proud moment for Agniveers to be inducted into the Ladakh Scouts Regiment. He advised them to work with dedication so that their work inspires others to be part of nation building.
The Agniveers, hailing from diverse regions of Ladakh, showcased their enthusiasm as they participated in the parade. The Reviewing Officer urged them to dedicate their lives to the service of the nation.
During the ceremony, young Agniveers were recognised and honoured with medals for their exceptional performance during their training. Additionally, the Gaurav Padak, a special award, was presented to the parents who either currently serve or have served in the Army and whose children joined the Regiment as Agniveers.
