At the ongoing Para-archery Asia Cup in Thailand, Indian para-archers won two more gold medals today in the recurve open and compound open mixed team events. With this India’s medal tally now stands at six with four gold and two silver. In the recurve open mixed team event, Harvinder Singh and Pooja secured gold defeating Indonesia’s Mahda Aulia and Kholidin 5-4 in a thrilling final shoot-off.
This marked Harvinder’s second gold, having already won in the men’s recurve team event. In the compound open mixed team event, Shyam Sunder Swami and Sarita triumphed with a 150-148 win over Indonesia’s Ken Swagumilang and Teodora Audi Ayudia Ferelly, leading throughout all four sets. Tomorrow, Indian archers competing in individual finals tomorrow, including three for gold, India has a strong chance to double its medal count.
