Minister of State for Panchayati Raj Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel said that Gram Panchayat representatives are key pillars in executing the government’s schemes on the ground. Launching the Model Women-Friendly Gram Panchayat initiative of the Ministry of Panchayati Raj at a National Convention in New Delhi, he highlighted the working style of panchayats and urged all Panchayat representatives to follow all norms in their work. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Anupriya Patel said that the government has changed the concept of development. She added that now women-led development is the main focus of the government, which will contribute to making India a developed nation by 2047.
Talking to Akashvani News, District Panchayat member in Goa, Anita Thora, appreciated the initiatives of the government to support Panchayats. She said that today’s workshop will guide all panchayat members.
A participant from Bihar, Pragya Kumari, said that she is providing financial training to women in her Panchayat, and as a result, women in the region have become financially literate.
Representatives from various ministries, departments, and international organizations like the United Nations Population Fund took part in the day-long event.
