Palm Sunday also referred to as Passion Sunday is being celebrated today across the world by the Christian communities. It marks the beginning of Holy Week, commemorating Jesus Christ’s triumphant entry into Jerusalem. The Holy Week ends with Easter Sunday. In the Christian dominated state of Nagaland, Palm Sunday is being observed with solemn religious fervour. Believers of Christian faith are holding special Palm Sunday Services.

In the morning, some churches organized processions, portraying the Passion of Jesus Christ, which refers to Jesus’ suffering prior to his trial and execution. Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has expressed his wishes on the occasion. In a social media post, Mr. Rio hoped that the beginning of Holy Week brings blessings of renewed hope and purpose in everyone’s life.
