In Jammu and Kashmir, the General Officer Commanding in Chief (GOC in Chief) Northern Command, Lieutenant General, Upendra Divwedi on Wednesday (13 September 2023) said that the army has eliminated a foreign terrorist along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri only but terrorists are infiltrating to foment trouble and disrupt peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir.
Aksahvani Jammu Correspondent reports that the army commander said that the army has killed foreign terrorists along the LoC in Poonch and Rajouri only while foiling infiltration bids. But they (terrorists) are now coming by road from Nepal and Punjab to foment trouble and to disrupt the prevailing peaceful atmosphere in J&K.
The army commander said, Pakistan is making full efforts to infiltrate foreign terrorists into J&K to hinder the progress being made in internal security conditions in the region and is trying to stop this journey of progress but we will not allow them to succeed. He further said that in the recent operation where one soldier had also been killed besides the army's dog, Kent, an effective operation was launched. The army commander remarked that in 2022, 1.88 crore tourists arrived in J&K and this year, the administration expects 2.25 crore tourist arrivals but Pakistan is trying to send infiltrators to disrupt the tourism boom.
Lieutenant General, Divwedi was speaking to the media on the sidelines of the North Tech Symposium at the IIT campus at Jagti on the outskirts of Jammu city.
