Pakistan: At least nine people killed in rain-related incidents in last 24 hours

In Pakistan, at least nine people were killed in rain-related incidents in the last 24 hours. While four persons lost their lives in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mansehra district today, five including four girls, lost their lives in Balochistan yesterday. In the Mansehra district, four including three children were killed after a landslide struck their home amid heavy rainfall. Many roads and bridges in the district were damaged due to the landslide.

In Balochistan, five people lost their lives to torrential rains. Flash floods and downpours also caused property losses in different areas. Balochistan’s road link with Karachi, Punjab, and other parts of Sindh could not be restored even after 48 hours. A 12-year-old girl was swept away by floodwaters in the Jhal Magsi area while a man died in Khuzdar when lightning struck him during heavy rain and thunderstorm. Pakistan's weather department has predicted heavy rainfall in many areas in the next three days.
