In Pakistan, six people, including five Afghan sisters, were killed when the roof of their house collapsed in Karachi’s Afghan Basti, last night. A senior police official said that some construction work was underway at the house when the incident occurred. At the time of the collapse, 10 family members were asleep inside. Four others, including two young children, sustained injuries.
Karachi is home to several Afghan refugee settlements, commonly known as Afghan Basti, located on the outskirts of the city.
