Pak court rejects Imran Khan and wife Bushra’s acquittal requests in Toshakhana-II case

A court in Pakistan today rejected former Prime Minister Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi’s acquittal requests in the Toshakhana-II case. During the hearing Special Judge of Central Islamabad, rejecting the acquittal requests, announced that charges would be formally framed against them on Monday next week. Imran and his wife were accused of retaining and selling state gifts in violation of government rules when he was in power. However, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has denied the charges, saying they were not involved in any wrongdoing.

Khan has been implicated in dozens of cases since his government was dismissed through a no-confidence motion in 2022. He has been kept in custody for over a year.
