More than one crore 23 lakh passengers have travelled on Regional Connectivity Scheme, UDAN Flights since the inception of the scheme. The scheme was launched in 2016 to stimulate regional air connectivity and make air travel affordable to the masses. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Dr V. K. Singh said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today. He said, under the scheme, 148 Airports, including nine heliports and two water aerodromes, have been developed and operationalized to date.
