The Centre has said that over 3 lakh 86 thousand students have opted for Artificial Intelligence (AI) at the secondary level in the 2022-23 sessions. In a written reply in Rajya Sabha today, Minister of State for Education Annapurna Devi said that National Education Policy recognized the role and importance of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

Ms. Devi said that another nearly 12 thousand students in the senior secondary level opted for AI in the 2022-23 Session. The Minister mentioned that AI is offered as a 12-hour module in class eight and as a skill subject in 9th to 12th standards.
