Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha today said that more than three lakh seventy-one thousand members of women self-help groups are currently covered under the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana. Addressing the gathering after inaugurating the 13-day Saras Mela at Agartala, the Chief Minister said more than twenty-one thousand SHG members have been provided with the Jeevan Jyoti Atal Pension Yojana.
Dr. Saha informed that borrowing loans has become easier than it was earlier, as it now takes only seven days for the disbursement of loans into the bank accounts of needy SHG members with an interest rate of 7 percent. Currently, more than 52 thousand SHGs are actively functioning in Tripura with 4 lakh 73 thousand members under their fold. In the Saras Mela this year, the theme of which is ‘Lakhpati Didi Tripurar Agragati,’ SHGs and other similar groups working under the fold of National and State Livelihood Missions from seven states have put up 399 stalls with their products at the sprawling International Fair Ground at Hapania in Agartala.
