The government has said that over two crore 41 lakh houses have been completed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin to provide pucca houses to poor people. Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti said this in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha. 

She said the government is implementing this scheme with effect from 2016 to provide pucca houses to poor people. Ms Jyoti said, the government has set a target of construction of two crore 95 lakh houses by March next year.  The Minister informed that two crore 93 lakh houses have already been sanctioned to the beneficiaries by various States and Union Territories.
