The Centre today said that more than 15.34 crore rural households are reported to have the facility of tap water supply to their homes under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) – Har Ghar Jal.

In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha,  Minister of State for Jal Shakti V. Somanna said there are 19.35 crore rural households in the country and out of this till now 79.28 percent have been covered under the Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) which are getting tap water supply.

Mr. Somanna further added that at the start of Jal Jeevan Mission in August 2019 only 3.23 crore rural households were reported to have tap water connection but presently it has registered significant growth.
