More than 10 lakh senior citizens have enrolled for the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card within three weeks of its rollout. The Union Health Ministry said that around 4 lakh enrollments under the Ayushman Vay Vandana Card are by females. The Ministry added that since its launch, treatments worth over 9 crore rupees have been authorized, benefiting more than 4,800 senior citizens aged 70 and above, including over 1,400 women.
The card provides access to free healthcare benefits under the PM Ayushman Bharat Mission and covers a range of conditions, including coronary angioplasty, hip fractures and replacements, gallbladder removal, cataract surgery, prostate resection, and stroke, among others.
