Over 1 million manpower resources were hired through the digital procurement platform Government e-Marketplace (GeM) in the Financial Year 2024-25. Speaking on this achievement, the EO of GeM, Ajay Bhadoo, stated that the platform has harnessed digital capabilities and has emerged as a one-stop shop for all possible services required by government buyers at various levels of administration. He added that the manpower outsourcing service not only simplifies the hiring process for government organizations but also ensures strict labour compliance through a comprehensive Service Level Agreement. Meanwhile, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry noted that this achievement highlights GeM’s commitment to transforming public procurement through transparency, compliance, and efficiency.
GeM currently offers over 33 thousand service providers, enabling buyers to engage manpower based on diverse criteria, including minimum wages and fixed remuneration.
