Our culture based on spirituality has placed the spirit of world-brotherhood at its centre, said President Droupadi Murmu on Friday (15th March 2024). Addressing a Four-day Global Spirituality Mahotsav at Kanha Shanti Vanam at Hyderabad, President stated that India has refrained from proving any one philosophy right and all others wrong and all means of reaching the truth ‘Sarvatra Samdarshan’ are respected. She added that this sense of equanimity is the basis of our spiritual tradition.
 
She told that a life based on ethics and spirituality is beneficial at both the individual and societal levels. In our tradition, spirituality and ethics have been considered as the basis of daily life. 
 
Ms. Murmu made it clear that Lord Mahavir, Lord Buddha, Jagadguru Shankaracharya, Saint Kabir, Saint Ravidas and Guru Nanak to Swami Vivekananda, India’s spiritual giants have always provided spiritual revival to the world community. 
 
President told that the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi was called the saint of Sabarmati because of the inculcation of spiritual values even in politics.  
 
Union Minister of State of Parliamentary affairs and culture, Arjun Ram Meghaval, Spiritual leaders Daaji, Tridandi Chinajiyar swamy, Balakrishna Maharaj of Patanjali and other spiritual Gurus from other religions took part in the Mahotsav.
