Opposition BJP legislators in Karnataka staged sit-in demonstration alleging deterioration in law and order situation

The Opposition BJP legislators in Karnataka staged a sit-in demonstration alleging deterioration in the law and order situation in the state. They later took out a march towards Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum to Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot. 

Addressing media persons, former Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said that the Government is not serious in investigating the brutal murder of Jain monk Acharya Sri Kamakumara Nandi Maharaj in Belagavi. He demanded CBI probe into the crime. The memorandum submitted to the Governor has sought his intervention to issue appropriate direction to the state government to maintain law and order and take stringent action against anti-social elements. 

Meanwhile, the Karnataka Congress leaders including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar held a silent protest today to express solidarity with their leader Rahul Gandhi who was denied stay by the Gujarat High Court.
