ODI ranking: Batsman Shubman Gill retains top position

Several star performers of the Indian Men’s Cricket team have made giant strides on the latest ODI rankings after India’s ICC Champions Trophy 2025 triumph with notable gains for Shubman Gill, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja. India lifted their third Champions Trophy title with a thrilling four-wicket victory over New Zealand in Dubai on Sunday. With the win, star performers from both teams have been rewarded in the rankings update released today. Young opener Shubman Gill remains at the top of the ODI batter rankings after his display during the Champions Trophy.
Shubman has also been named ICC Men’s Player of the Month award for February. The 25-year-old outshone Australia’s Steve Smith and New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips to claim the honour.
Meanwhile, Indian teammate and experienced skipper Rohit Sharma jumped two places to third spot in the latest ODI rankings, after smashing a match-winning 76 off 83 balls in the final. For his impressive performance in the final, Rohit was awarded the Player of the Match trophy. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who amassed 218 runs in the tournament, remains in the top five, in the fifth position, following his haul of 218 runs in the tournament.
New Zealand’s batters also made notable progress. Daryl Mitchell moves up one place to sixth, while young sensation Rachin Ravindra climbs an impressive 14 spots to 14th. India’s spin duo Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja saw their rankings improve after their key contributions to the country’s unbeaten campaign. Kuldeep, who picked up seven wickets, climbed to third position while Jadeja moved up to the 10th spot after claiming five wickets at the tournament. Afghanistan star Azmatullah Omarzai maintains his lead at the top of the rankings for ODI all-rounders.
