The education ministry today informed that the National Testing Agency (NTA) has conducted over 240 examinations involving over 5.4 crore candidates in the country in the last six years.
In a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha, the minister of state for education, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, informed that the NTA was set up as a specialised body to conduct examinations for entrance to higher education institutions in 2018.
The minister said the examinations are being conducted in both pen-and-paper test (PPT) and computer-based test (CBT) modes.
