Nomination papers of 151 candidates was found valid for 32 assembly constituencies in Sikkim, with 14 nominations accepted for the lone Lok Sabha constituency. The scrutiny process has been completed on Friday. The deadline for withdrawal of candidatures is March 30, after which the list of contesting candidates will be published. The elections for the lone Lok Sabha seat and 32 seats of the state legislative assembly are scheduled for the first phase on the 19th of next month. The main political parties contesting in this election include the ruling SKM, BJP, SDF, Congress, and the newly formed CAP.
