Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus Sworn in as Head of Bangladesh’s Interim Government

Muhammad Yunus, the renowned Nobel laureate, was officially sworn in as the head of Bangladesh’s interim government yesterday evening. The oath-taking ceremony was conducted by President Mohammed Shahabuddin at Bangabhaban in Dhaka. The event was attended by diplomats from various countries.

 

Muhammad Yunus, born on June 28, 1940, is a distinguished Bangladeshi entrepreneur, banker, and economist. He received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2006 for his groundbreaking work with Grameen Bank, where he pioneered the concepts of microcredit and microfinance. Yunus’s appointment to lead the interim government marks a significant development in Bangladesh’s political landscape.
