The Centre has informed the Lok Sabha that there has been zero net infiltration into Jammu and Kashmir till June end this year. In a written a reply to a question in the House, Minister of State for Home Nityanand Rai said that the approach adopted by Government of India to tackle the cross-border infiltration has ensured a perceptible decline in infiltration and the cases of net infiltration has declined from 141 in 2019 to 14 in 2022. He added that the Government has adopted a well coordinated and multi-pronged strategy to tackle the cross-border infiltration. This includes tactical deployment of forces at International Border, Line of Control, use of technology like Surveillance Cameras, Night Vision Cameras, Heat Sensing Gadgets and border fencing.
