The government said that there is no conclusive data available in the country to establish a direct correlation between death or disease exclusively due to air pollution. In a written reply to a question in the Lok Sabha on Friday, Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare Prataprao Jadhav said air pollution is one of the aggravating factors for respiratory ailments and associated diseases. He said the health effects of air pollution are a synergistic manifestation of factors which include food habits, occupational habits, socioeconomic status and medical history of individuals.
