NITI Aayog CEO, BVR Subrahmanyam, today said that the Micro, Small, and Medium enterprises (MSMEs) sector contributes around 40 percent in total exports made by the country. Speaking during an event in New Delhi today, Mr. Subrahmanyam highlighted the challenges faced by MSMEs like capital, regulations, and technology. He said that NITI Aayog is working to develop an ecosystem for electronics and auto components to address these challenges.
Speaking about the country’s economic transformation, Mr. Subrahmanyam said that investments in infrastructure and capital expenditure played a pivotal role in the country’s progress. He said, the country’s population will fuel its growth in the coming years as India is having the world’s largest working-age population. He also emphasized that efforts should be made to attract foreign investors by simplifying the process and regulations.
