The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Srinagar is hosting two day Smart India Hackathon 2024 grand finale beginning this morning. The preparations for the grand finale at NIT Srinagar have been completed and the inaugural session which began at around 8 this morning, will be followed by the central inaugural session around 9 a.m.. The categories and themes for SIH 2024 align with the Prime Minister’s vision of promoting hackathons, innovation challenges, and start-ups as part of building a ‘New India.’
The Nodal Officer for Smart India Hackathon at NIT Srinagar Dr. H.S. Pali told Akashvani News that 25 teams from across the country are participating in the Srinagar Hackathon. He said this is the first time NIT Srinagar has been selected among 30 engineering institutes for this year’s 7th edition of Smart India Hackathon. He informed that the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and the Gas Authority of India, are part of the Srinagar Hackathon to seek solutions for their five problems that could be related to software, hardware, hacking, cyber security or related issues.
