New Delhi: Water level of Yamuna River recedes; CM announces Rs. 10,000 as financial help to every flood-affected family

The water level of the Yamuna River in Delhi has receded from 208.6 metres to 205.9 metres, allowing life to gradually return to normalcy. The Chandrawal water treatment plant has been made operational today, following the successful resumption of the Okhla water treatment plant yesterday. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal visited the Mori Gate flood relief camp today and assessed the situation to ensure effective relief measures for the affected individuals. The city government has taken many steps to offer immediate relief to those at the relief camp established in a school at Mori Gate.

The Chief Minister announced ten thousand rupees as financial help to every flood-affected family. Essential arrangements including food, water, toilets, and accommodation have been put in place to support the affected individuals. Mr. Kejriwal announced that special camps will be set up later to provide assistance for those whose important documents and children's books were washed away in the floods. He added that arrangements will be made for books and clothes for the children as well.

In view of flood relief camps likely to continue to run in schools in the areas bordering the river Yamuna, all government, government aided and private recognised schools in the affected areas will remain closed for students till Tuesday.
