The Campus Building of Aanbookhaireni Campus, in Tanahun, built with the Government of India’s financial assistance at a total project cost of NRs.30.01 million under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was jointly inaugurated today by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, District Coordination Committee of Tanahun and Chairman of Aanbookhaireni Rural Municipality, Tanahun.

The Government of India grant under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was utilized to construct a double-storied campus building with other facilities for the Aanbookhaireni Campus. This project was implemented through the District Coordination Committee, Tanahun.

Aanbookhaireni Campus is a community-based Campus affiliated with Tribhuvan University (TU), established in 2005. The Campus provides Bachelor’s Degree programs in Bachelor of Business Studies and Bachelor of Education. It has around 300 students, 90% of whom are girls. The education facilities would improve the learning environment and contribute to the development of education in this region.

Meanwhile, The Hospital Building of Galyang City Hospital, Galyang Municipality, Syangja, built with the Government of India’s financial assistance at a total project cost of NRs.40.13 million under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was jointly inaugurated today by the Embassy of India, Kathmandu, Chief of District Coordination Committee, Syangja and Mayor of Galyang Municipality, Syangja.

The Government of India grant under ‘Nepal-India Development Cooperation’ was utilized for the construction of the hospital building and provision of medical equipment with other facilities for Galyang City Hospital. This project was taken up as a High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP) under an Agreement between Government of India and Government of Nepal. This project was implemented through the District Coordination Committee, Syangja.

Galyang Community Hospital was established in 2010 as a small rental house by the local people under the Nepal Government’s permission, aiming to provide quality health services and address different health-related problems. Now, this hospital has been renamed Galyang City Hospital and is financially supported by the Galyang Municipality. The hospital provides medical health services to the populations of Syangja, Palpa, Parbat and Gulmi districts. The set-up created for this hospital would be useful in providing quality infrastructure and an improved environment for health care services to the people of Nepal.

As close neighbours, India and Nepal share wide-ranging and multi-sectoral cooperation. The implementation of HICDPs reflects the continued support of the Government of India in bolstering the efforts of the Government of Nepal in the upliftment of its people by augmenting infrastructure in priority sectors.
