Network Planning Group meeting under PM GatiShakti recommends four infrastructure projects

The 54th Network Planning Group meeting under PM GatiShakti has recommended four infrastructure projects worth more than seven thousand 600 crore rupees. The meeting was chaired by Special Secretary, Logistics, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade Sumita Dawra in New Delhi. During the meeting, two projects each of Road, Transport and Highways Ministry and Railways Ministry were assessed.

The Network Planning Group examined four-lane Thiruvananthapuram Outer Ring Road, under Bharatmala Pariyojana, in Kerala worth more than four thousand 767 crore rupees. This project corridor is a part of Mumbai-Kanyakumari Economic Corridor. The project is essential to provide smooth and faster connectivity to Eastern Region from Northern Region and will boost the economic growth in economically backward regions.

The planning group also deliberated on a new broad gauge railway Line between Pushkar – Merta in Rajasthan with a project cost of over 799 crore rupees. The proposed new line will provide direct connectivity from Central India to Northern India as well as to Western border.
