Nepal PM KP Sharma Oli Calls for Profitable State-Run Industries and Focus on Employment-Generating Sectors

Prime Minister of Nepal KP Sharma Oli stresses that any industry and corporation run by the state should not go into loss. During a briefing with the employees under Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Supplies and subordinate bodies at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, Singha Durbar, Prime Minister Oli urged them to work to bring about industrialization as environment for infrastructures like road and electricity have already been prepared for it.

 

 

PM Oli suggested that the state should not force the industries to run that do not make a profit and give output. Urging to give priority to industries related to employment-generation and products making the society civilized and healthy rather than industries related to alcohol and tobacco, he directed the authorities to protect those carrying out good deeds.

 

 

The Prime Minister urged to continue the exploration and extraction of minerals and petroleum products and come up with a plan to develop industries based on it. Minister for Industry Damodar Bhandari, Chief Secretary Lila Devi Gadtaula, Secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Minister, Raj Kumar Shrestha, Ministry Secretary Krishna Bahadr Raut, among others were present on the occasion.
