A D30 De-addiction and Disability Awareness Summit took place in Kathmandu on Monday to discuss disabilities caused by drug abuse, especially in youth. President of Nepal, Ram Sahay Yadav, distributed International Excellence and Youth Icon Awards in the event to individuals who have contributed to the field of drug de-addiction.
Civil societies, spiritual leaders, social activists and political leaders from India and Nepal participated in the summit along with eminent personalities of both countries to generate awareness for addiction from drug abuse. Paralympic silver medalist Deepa Malik emphasised that drug abuse results in disabilities and the disabilities can be prevented, which are a challenge to a normal lifestyle.
Memory and Mind Trainer Nabal Pajihar shared some handy techniques for de-addiction like the wrist rubber band technique and other ways to get de-addicted.
The Summit discussed in depth disabilities caused by drug abuse, how to cope with this social problem and the forward.
