In Nepal, the Kanti highway connecting Hetauda to Kathmandu in Bagmati Province has been blocked for traffic due to landslides triggered by incessant rainfall last night. Efforts are being made to remove the landslide debris and bring the highway back into operation. According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, due to the influence of Monsoon winds active across the country, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning in some places of all the provinces. The Department warned of the risk of floods, landslides, and inundation in urban and Tarai areas, and hence has requested all concerned to remain vigilant.
