President Draupadi Murmu has said that the National Education Policy 2020 has been implemented to bring significant changes in the education system as per the demand of the time. The President was addressing the convocation of Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar today. She expressed confidence that the education received in accordance with the new National Education Policy will promote original thinking and creative ability in the students and provide better employment opportunities.
The President said that Guru Jambheshwar Ji, in whose honour this university is named, was a great saint, philosopher and environment lover.
On this occasion, while congratulating the students who received degrees and medals, she expressed happiness that the number of girls among the students receiving PhD degrees is more than 60 percent. The President said that this is proof of the increasing role of women in the society and development of not only Haryana but the country.
