Paris Olympics silver medalist javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra and steeplechase runner Avinash Sable will represent India at the 2024 Diamond League final, starting today in Brussels, Belgium. The Allianz Memorial Van Damme, the final event of this year’s Diamond League, will see top athletes competing for victory in their disciplines.
On the first day today, Indian steeplechaser Avinash Sable will make his Diamond League final debut. Currently ranked 14th, Sable will face strong competitors, including Samuel Firewu and Getnet Wale from Ethiopia, and Amos Serem and Abraham Kibiwot from Kenya.
On the second day tomorrow, javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra, who won silver in Paris, will compete in the javelin throw final. Chopra, currently 4th in the standings with 14 points, will compete against Grenada’s Anderson Peters, the Paris bronze medalist and points leader, and Germany’s Julian Weber.
