The National Commission for Women has urged Election Commission for strict action against Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate and party leader H S Ahir for their alleged derogatory remarks against actress Kangana Ranaut. In a social media post, the Commission said, NCW Chief Rekha Sharma has written a letter to Election commissioner in this regard. It said, National Commission for Women is appalled by the disgraceful conduct of both the leader, who made lewd and derogatory remarks about Kangana Ranaut on social media. Ms Sharma said, such behavior is intolerable and goes against the dignity of women. The BJP candidate, actress Kangana Ranaut is contesting from Mandi Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh.
Meanwhile, after the controversy, Congress leader Supriya Shrinate issued clarification saying that many people have access to her Facebook and Instagram accounts. Ms Shrinate informed that she had deleted that post.
