The National Commission for Women (NCW) has condemned the harrowing incident in Pratapgarh of Rajasthan after a woman was allegedly molested, stripped, and recorded on video. NCW Chief Rekha Sharma has asked the Director General of Police of the State to promptly arrest the culprits and invoke necessary Indian Penal Code provisions. The Commission has also demanded a comprehensive report on the matter within five days.
BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda also hit out at the Congress-led Rajasthan government in connection with the incident saying that the video from Pratapgarh is shocking. He said that the governance in Rajasthan is totally absent. Mr Nadda alleged that the State Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and his Ministers are busy settling factional squabbles, and the remaining time is spent appeasing one dynasty in Delhi. He said that the issue of women’s safety is being completely ignored in the state as every single day, there is an instance of harassment against women. Mr Nadda said that the people of Rajasthan will teach the state Government a lesson.
