In Maharashtra, the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) led by the Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar has released its second list of seven candidates for the assembly election. The party has fielded Zeeshan Siqqique, son of late Baba Siddique from Bandra East constituency, whereas former MP Prataprao Chikhlikar will be contesting from Loha. Both these leaders joined the NCP hours before the declaration of their candidature.
Additionally, Sana Malik, daughter of Nawab Malik, has been fielded from Anushakti Nagar seat. Sanjay Kaka Patil has been named the candidate from Tasgaon-Kavathe Mahankal constituency against NCP (SP) candidate Rohit Patil, son of late NCP leader R R Patil. Nishikant Patil will challenge NCP (SP) state president Jayant Patil in Islampur. The NCP has fielded Sunil Tingre from Wadgaon Sheri in Pune. The party has fielded Dnyaneshwar Katke from Shrirur.
Elections to the 288-member Maharashtra Assembly will be held on November 20 and votes will be counted on November 23.
