Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) president Sharad Pawar will kick-start his tour of Maharashtra State today. The first rally will be held at Yeola in Nasik district. Party spokesperson Mahesh Tapase said Pawar will be welcomed by NCP supporters at Thane, Bhiwandi, Padgha, Shahapur, Igatpuri and many other places by workers while on his way to Yeola.
Meanwhile, the NCP faction led by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar yesterday claimed that there is no split within the NCP adding that the issue of having the support of two-third MLAs is futile. The faction further said that the organizational appointments of the NCP till now are anti-constitutional and only the Election Commission of India (ECI)’s verdict will confirm whom the party belongs to.
On Thursday, Sharad Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party held its working committee meeting in Delhi and expelled Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare, Ajit Pawar and eight other rebel MLAs.
