Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying Rajiv Ranjan Singh today said that nation’s Inland fishing has more share than marine fishing in fish production, which is remarkable. While addressing on World Fisheries day 2024 in New Delhi, the Minister stated that government’s commitment is Sustainable growth in the Fishing sector.

        On the occasion, the Minister launched the 5th Marine Fisheries Census that will facilitate data census for promoting data-driven policymaking and National Action Plan on Sharks that aims to adopt sustainable and effective management of the shark populations.
