National Vaccination Day is being celebrated across the country today. This Day is celebrated on the 16th of March every year to raise awareness about the importance of immunization.

Health Ministry said in a social media post that immunization is a key driver to achieve the goal of protecting every child of the nation. It said that the Ministry, along with State governments, and the dedicated frontline health workers, are committed to enhance immunity of the children.

Mission Indradhanush was launched in 2014 to rapidly increase the full immunization coverage. It aims to reduce child mortality and accelerate the process of full immunization coverage for children at a rapid pace. Mission Indradhanush aims to ensure that all children under the age of 2 years and pregnant women are fully immunized with all available vaccines.
