National flag hoisted in all states across the Nation

In Punjab, the state-level Independence Day function is held at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium in Jalandhar. State Chief Minister Bhagwat Singh Maan hoisted the national flag. He also took the salute at the march past led by Parade Commander Vaibhav Chaudhary. Various departments presented tableaux depicting development and public welfare schemes. After the PT show by school students, cultural performances imbued with patriotism were presented by students from different colleges and schools.

 

In Madhya Pradesh, the 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with traditional gaiety and pride. Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav hoisted the flag at a state-level function held at the Lal Parade Ground in Bhopal today. The Chief Minister awarded gallantry medals to police officers.

 

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde today reiterated that the government is committed to the overall development and welfare of all the citizens. The government has launched various schemes for the benefit of farmers, women, students and youth. He was speaking at Mantralaya in Mumbai after hoisting the national flag on 78th Independence Day. He said, all attempts are being made to increase the per capita income of citizens and development works are being done without differentiating Urban and Rural areas. In his speech, Mr. Shinde reviewed the progress made by the state and various schemes launched by the state government.

 

Maharashtra Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan hoisted the National Tricolor at Raj Bhavan.

 

Independence Day is being celebrated all across the state with full fervour and enthusiasm. Various special programmes, rallies, and exhibitions are organized all over the state to mark this occasion.

 

Independence Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm and gaiety in Chhattisgarh. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai hoisted the tricolour at the main function held in the capital Raipur. Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that the security forces in Chhattisgarh are fighting the anti-democracy, Naxalite terror with full courage and passion. In the last eight months, the soldiers have shown indomitable courage and killed 146 Naxalites. During this time, 32 new security camps have been opened in the Maoist-affected areas and 29 new camps are going to be started in the coming days. He said that along with freeing the people from terror by expanding new camps in the interior areas, the work of ensuring basic facilities in these areas is also being done on a war footing. The Chief Minister said that the State Investigation Agency -SIA has been formed to make the investigation and prosecution action more effective in dealing with Naxalite incidents.

 

In Odisha, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi hoisted the national flag at the state-level celebrations held at the Mahatma Gandhi Marg at Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. In his maiden Independence Day speech, Majhi emphasised India’s significant progress and Odisha’s emerging role in the nation’s development. He reflected on India’s journey over the last 77 years and highlighted the nation’s rapid advancement under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. A colourful parade was organised to mark the occasion.

 

Assam today celebrated the Independence Day with enthusiasm. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma addressing after the Flag Hoisting Ceremony, said that Assam is one of the five fastest developing states and front runner in the sustainable development goal in the entire country. He informed that over 80 lakh people have escaped poverty in the State during the last 10 years due to welfare initiatives of the government and by 2047 Assam will be a fully developed state.

 

Mr. Sarma also said that investment by the TATA Group for the production of Semiconductor chips in Assam and recognition of Chraideo Moidams by UNESCO as a World Heritage site are big achievements of his government. The CM informed that on October 2nd State government will officially launch the Right to Public Services to improve the service delivery and the third phase of Mission Basundhara. Mr. Sarma stated that the cases of child marriage reduced drastically due to efforts of the government and informed that his government is determined to eliminate the child marriage menace by 2026 from the state. 20 lakh new beneficiaries to be added under the Orunodoi scheme this year added the CM. The CM also said that the state government launched the Amrit Brikshya andolan to mitigate global warming and boost the economic condition of the people. He appealed to all people to plant at least 10 trees to fight global warming.

 

The people of Telangana are celebrating the 78th Independence Day with patriotic fervour and gaiety. Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy hoisted the national flag at the historic Golkonda fort this morning. This is the first time that he hoisted the national flag at the historic Golconda after he assumed office. Addressing the people of the state from the ramparts of Golconda fort, the Chief Minister has announced that his government will extend financial assistance of 12 thousand rupees per year for the landless agriculture labourers this year as they had been leading miserable lives. Reiterating the government’s commitment to farmers’ welfare, he said financial assistance of 15 thousand rupees for farmers under Rythu Bharosa will be provided soon since the preparation of modalities for implementation of the scheme was under process.

 

The 78th Independence Day has been celebrated across the state, while the tricolour has been hoisted at all constitutional institutions, Government and educational institutions besides the citizen organisations celebrated with much pomp.

 

In Nagaland, the 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with enthusiasm and pride. In the Capital Kohima, Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio hoisted the tricolor. Addressing the function, the Chief Minister said that as part of his government’s effort for speedy resolution of the Naga political issues, the Political Affairs Committee has already held its first meeting. He said further consultations will be held with the Civil Society Organizations and Tribal leaders to help reach an early solution.

 

The 25th Hornbill Festival will be celebrated this year. To celebrate the anniversary with an enhanced tourist experience, Rio said that a new gallery with a capacity of more than 7000 is under construction along with new features and amenities at Kisama Heritage Village. Making a statement on the law and order situation in the State, the Chief Minister said that the prevalent peaceful atmosphere is won by dint of hard work and determination. He lauded the district Administration, police and the citizens for their tireless effort.

 

The Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir is celebrating the 78th Independence Day. The biggest event was held at Bakhshi Stadium in Srinagar where Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha hoisted the National Flag. On this joyous occasion, the Lieutenant Governor extended his heartfelt greetings and best wishes and remembered the countless sacrifices made by our valiant freedom fighters and martyrs. In his speech, the Lieutenant Governor said after the successful G20 Tourism Working Group meeting last year, the number of tourists has increased by two and a half times and the tourism sector in Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed unprecedented growth. He said more than 2.11 crore tourist visits were recorded in the year 2023 besides tourists from abroad numbered 55,000 in 2023 which reflects the Union Territory gaining popularity as an international tourist destination.

 

In Bihar, the 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with zest and full patriotic emotions. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar unfurled the national flag at the state-level ceremony in historic Gandhi Maidan in Patna. Mr. Kumar created a record of hoisting the national flag as a Chief Minister 18th time. Addressing the function Mr. Kumar said his government is committed to providing employment and good education.

 

The Chief Minister said that before the upcoming state assembly elections the target of providing 12 lakh government jobs will be achieved and 34 lakh employment opportunities will be created. He claimed that the government has already provided more than five lakh government jobs and in the last four years more than 24 lakh employment opportunities have been already created. The Chief Minister said the focus of the government is on recruiting good teachers so the State Public Service Commission BPSC has started a mass drive. He added that 2 lakh 20 thousand teachers have been appointed in 2023 and the process is going on to fill up the vacancies.

 

In Mizoram, the 78th Independence Day was celebrated throughout the state with high patriotic fervour and enthusiasm. Speaking at the state-level celebration at Assam Rifles Ground – Lammual – today, Chief Minister Lalduhoma said that the Government is committed to providing transparent government and work for the interest of the people. The Chief Minister said that various sectors will be strengthened under his Government’s flagship program “Bana Kaih” – which is a Hand-holding Policy, purchasing and processing of artisans’ produce will be considered the utmost priority and they will continue to promote handloom products and also continue to seek talents amongst the youngsters so that they may utilize it to built a career out of their talents.

 

Independence Day was also celebrated in all District Headquarters, Sub-Divisional Headquarters and various places across Mizoram.

 

78th Independence Day is being celebrated across West Bengal. The main state government programme was organised at Red Road Kolkata. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has hoisted the national flag in this programme and inspected the guard of honour. Governor Dr C V Ananda Bose has participated in a programme at Gandhi Ghat in Barrackpore. Various government institutions and offices also celebrated the Independence Day. Schools and educational institutions also took part in the celebration.

 

The 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with a spirit of patriotism and great pomp and show in Haryana today. Independence Day celebrations were organized in all the districts in the morning and contingents of Police and paramilitary forces, cadets of National Cadet Corps and National Service Scheme performed impressive parades. Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini hoisted the flag and took the salute at the parade, in a ceremony organized in the premises of Police Lines in Kurukshetra. Earlier, he paid tribute to the martyrs at the Shaheed Smarak located in the Mini Secretariat. In his address, the Chief Minister paid true tributes to the martyrs who sacrificed everything for the freedom of the country and said that today I salute all those martyrs who participated in the freedom struggle, due to whom today we are breathing in the open air of freedom. Throwing light on the various schemes of the Haryana Government, he said that from time to time the government is providing various facilities to the families of the martyrs and all kinds of schemes have also been launched for the citizens of Haryana. A presentation was given by SWAT i.e. Special Weapons and Tactics in the Independence Day program. Haryana Commandos also gave a wonderful performance with acrobatics on motorcycles.

 

On the 78th Independence Day, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel hoisted the National flag and took the salute at Raj Bhavan in Lucknow. The Governor also paid obeisance to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi. In her address, the Honorable Governor said that cleanliness and innovation are necessary for the progress of society and our nation. She called for fulfilling Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve of a self-reliant and developed India. While UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath hoisted the tricolour at Vidhan Bhavan. The Chief Minister also distributed gallantry awards to the war heroes who showed indomitable courage to protect the nation. Addressing the program, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath called upon the people of the state to follow the Panch Pran. CM Yogi said that it is the duty of all of us to follow the Panch Pran. Shri Yogi said that the last vow in these Panch Pran is related to civic duties, which we have to discharge on a priority basis. He said that if everyone fulfils his or her duties, then by the time we celebrate the centenary of independence, we would be a developed nation. The Chief Minister said that once UP was considered a BIMARU state but today it has become a surplus state with unlimited potential. On this occasion, the Chief Minister also announced a new scheme named ‘Mukhyamantri Yuva Udyami Vikas Abhiyan’ which will generate employment opportunities for 10 lakh youth.

 

Along with the rest of the nation, Arunachal Pradesh also celebrated the 78th Independence Day today. The main state function was held at IG Park Itanagar. Chief Minister Pema Khandu hoisted the national flag and took salute from the parade. The ceremonial March past was participated by various uniformed contingents, NCC cadets, Scouts and Guides, and school children. Addressing the gathering the Chief Minister said that Arunachal Pradesh is more than just a geographical entity. He said it’s a promise of unity, inclusive growth and prosperity for every individual. Mr. Khandu reiterated that the state’s path of development involves breaking down barriers of identity, region, tribe, creed and religion, as well as overcoming the challenges posed by its rugged terrain. Later, the Chief Secretary of the state announced the name of the State awardees and the Chief Ministers Award for excellence in Public Administration. The other attractions of the celebration were a Drone display, Tableau of Sports achievers, Para motoring, and colourful cultural programmes. Earlier today morning, the Governor of the state, Lt. Gen KT Parnaik hoisted the national flag at Raj Bhawan in Itanagar. In his address, the Governor extended greetings to the people of the state. He remarked that India’s Independence Day marks the birth of the world’s largest democracy and paid tribute to the brave sons and daughters of India who made the ultimate sacrifice to secure freedom.

 

In Gujarat, the 78th Independence Day is being celebrated with zeal and fervour across the state. The state-level Independence Day ceremony was held at Nadiad in Kheda district. Addressing people, after unfurling the national flag, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel expressed confidence that Gujarat will be the leading state to achieve the vision of developed India by the year 2047. The CM said Gujarat has paved a path of holistic development through various welfare and developmental schemes. The Chief Minister called for commitment to realize the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to build a self-reliant and developed nation with the values of ‘Nation First’.

 

Gujarat Governor Acharya Devvrat hoisted the National Flag at his residence Rajbhavan in Gandhinagar. Various programmes are being organised in schools and colleges on Independence Day.

 

In Kerala, the Flag Officer Commanding- in – Chief of the Southern Naval Command Vice Admiral V Srinivas laid a wreath at the War Memorial of the Naval Base in Kochi this morning. He also reviewed a ceremonial parade held at the Naval Institute of Aeronautical Technology Parade Ground at the Southern Naval Command. In Lakshadweep, Advisor to the Lakshadweep Administrator Sandeep Kumar, hoisted the National Flag at the Senior Secondary School Stadium at Kavaratti this morning. The celebrations were curtailed following heavy rain in the region.

 

The northeastern state of Tripura also joined the rest of the country to celebrate the 78th Independence Day with full patriotism, traditional fervour and gaiety today. Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha hoisted the National Flag at the main state-level programme at Assam Rifles ground at Agartala. He inspected the parade and also took salutes from the marching contingents of State Police, Tripura State Rifles, Border Security force, Women contingent of TSR battalion, CRPF, Assam police, Assam Rifles, and NCC boys among others. Later addressing the gathering, he said, new avenues are opening for Tripura’s development through a transparent administration under the current BJP government. He asserted that steps have been taken for Infrastructure development, human development, women empowerment, education, the health sector, employment issues, farmers’ welfare and more. He elaborately discussed various schemes implemented by the government for state development and the dividends drawn from them. He expressed hope that with everyone’s joint effort, the goals for the Prime Minister’s Viksit Bharat scheme and Ek Tripura Sresth Tripura will be achieved.
