After the resounding victory in Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections Vice President of National Conference Omar Abdullah said that people have rejected the politics of the BJP and its associates and voted for hope and prosperity. Talking to media after receiving the winning candidate’s certificate from Ganderbal, Mr Abdullah said that he will have meeting with the alliance partner and decide for the future course of action in next few days.
National Conference President Farooq Abdullah announced in Srinagar that Omar Abdullah will be the chief minister of the new alliance government.
On the other hand Mehbooba Mufti, president of PDP has accepted the defeat and said that even though the numbers are not in their favour, her party is still the force to reckon with. She said in Srinagar that people of J&K voted in the favour of a stable government and they show their confidence in National Conference and Congress alliance.
