The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has sought a report from the Karnataka government over the reported diversion of funds from the Scheduled Caste Sub Plan and Tribal Sub Plan (SCSP) for implementing Five Guarantees Schemes in the state. Taking cognizance of the media report, the Commission has asked the state government to submit a detailed report within seven days over the issue. The Commission, citing media reports, said that the state government has decided to divert over 14 thousand crore rupees from the sub plans to allocate funds to Five Guarantee Schemes.
